V.International Maarif Photography Contest

The Vth International Maarif Photography Contest will be held with the theme "MY COUNTRY" (Culture-Art-Tradition).

Participants are expected to showcase the rich cultural heritage, artistic beauties, and traditional practices of their own countries through photography.

Application Process

Participants can enter the contest by filling out the application form and uploading their photos through the website eyesofmaarif.com.

Evaluation Process

Entries in the student category will first be evaluated among applications from Maarif Schools, with awards given for in-school rankings. Photos of candidates who pass the first round with in-school rankings in the student category, as well as entries from the teacher and staff categories, will be evaluated by the Central Headquarters jury and then by a professional jury.

Awards will be given for the International Maarif Schools Student and Staff Categories, with prizes for First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention (10) awards.

CONTEST ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • The contest is open to students and staff (teachers and personnel) of Maarif Schools.
  • Each participant may submit up to three (3) photos.
  • Participants must provide their personal information accurately and completely on the application form.
  • Photos previously submitted to other national or international contests, or versions of those photos with different crops, cannot participate; if awarded, the prizes will be revoked.
  • The structure of the photo must not be altered. Photos that include objects not present in the original photo or remove existing objects through montage will not be accepted; if submitted, a rule violation will be applied.
  • Simple interventions such as reframing, color, contrast, and light corrections are allowed as long as they are not exaggerated. The jury's discretion is fundamental. If the jury decides there has been significant intervention, it will be considered a rule violation.
  • Participants accept that the copyrights of the photos sent and evaluated are transferred to Turkish Maarif Foundation.
  • If the work includes human portraits, consent from the individuals must be obtained, and it must be stated that permission is granted for use and/or modification by Turkish Maarif Foundation. (Consent forms from third parties must be uploaded to the system during application.)
  • The works must not contain obscene, offensive, inappropriate, or harmful elements and must not infringe upon any institution or individual's privacy, copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights.
  • By applying to this contest, participants agree that the images they provide are their own, that they waive all rights to the awarded images, and transfer these rights to Turkish Maarif Foundation, with no further claims regarding these matters.
  • Participants must submit their works and necessary information via the application form by October 29, 2024, until 23:59 Türkiye local time.
