2020 Winners

Our foundation organized the first photo contest with the theme "Education During Pandemic Days" with online participation in our schools from January 10th to February 28th, 2021.

In our foundation's schools, a competition aimed at the participation of students aged 13-18 through online attendance was organized. There was particularly strong participation from Pakistan, and in addition, a total of 220 photographs were submitted from 14 countries, including Senegal, Tunisia, Somalia, Mauritania, Tanzania, North Macedonia, Albania, Hungary, Romania, Georgia, Iraq, Ethiopia, and Kosovo.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected every aspect of life worldwide, was conveyed through the eyes of our students in the field of education. Thanks to this competition, we were able to observe how the pandemic period was evaluated, the classroom environments our students created for themselves in remote education, and the changes in the classroom environment after the pandemic in our schools that continued with face-to-face education.

With the evaluation of the preliminary jury, the top 3 rankings and 10 honorable mention awards were determined by the votes of our Foundation's Board of Trustees and Board of Directors members among the 20 photos that made it to the finals.

As prizes for the winning photographs:

• First Place: Canon EOS 2000D

• Second Place: Canon IXUS 190

• Third Place: Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 SM-T290

Additionally, the Turkey Maarif Foundation Gift Set was presented to the top 10 participants receiving honorable mentions.

Below is the list of students and their countries who won prizes in the competition. On May 17, 2021, Monday, at 14:00, an online award ceremony was organized. Following the opening speech of the Foundation President, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, a congratulatory speech was given. After the video presentation showcasing all the photos of the honorable mentions and top winners, the awards were presented to the top 3 students by the school principals.

The first event held under the International Photography Competition status was successfully completed, and it is planned to be repeated with new themes every year.
